Why We No Longer Use X
The Society no longer uses X (formerly Twitter) for the following reasons:
- They lock our account without any warning or even post-event notification
- They make assumptions about the account which makes no allowance for the fact that it is a Society account and does not belong to an individual
- They insist on a date of birth but will not allow the date when the society was formed
- They will not allow the date the Society moved primarily to student bursaries without "parental consent"
- Thus the date the Society started using Twitter cannot be used either
- The owner of X is of dubious character and is not the sort of person the Society would wish to be associated with
